In the context of Vietnam’s continuously developing economy, the business community plays an increasingly important role in job creation, contributing to the state budget, and fostering innovation. Business associations also act as a bridge between enterprises and local authorities, supporting production and business activities and contributing to the socio-economic development of each locality.
However, under the Government’s policy of building a two-tier local government model, business associations at the district level must cease operations in accordance with the timeline set for the termination of district-level administrative units, as stipulated in Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2025.
To enable businesses to continue participating in the Association, meet new demands for collaboration, scale expansion, and improved regional competitiveness – while leveraging geographic advantages, infrastructure, and shared economic characteristics of administrative units in the West–Southwest area of Ho Chi Minh City – the unification of four business associations (Binh Tan District, District 7, District 8, and Binh Chanh District) into a single organization has become a practical need.
This merger aims to build a large-scale organization that maximizes resources, improves operational quality, and creates greater impact for the business community, contributing to the city’s economic and social development goals in the new era.
